成功的音乐人 Linkin Park的Chester

2017年7月20日，LinkinPark (林肯公园主唱) Chester Bennington(查斯特·贝宁顿)在家中自缢身亡。

 

可能没人听过林肯公园，但是电影暮光之城第一部片尾曲《Leave Out All theRest》，QQ飞车经典BGM《Numb》《In The End》，变形金刚1主题曲《What I've Done》，变形金刚2主题曲《New Divide》，这些难道都没听过么？我还期望着你说“噢！听过！只不过不知道歌曲名。”

快再去听听，再听听。像听迈克尔杰克逊的《Beat it》，Beyond《喜欢你》，张海生《大海》，听得懂听不懂喜欢与不喜欢不重要，重要的是那些歌已经像钢筋穿插在混凝土般的记忆里，从此每根钢筋都变得独一无二。

 

在我看来Linkin Park是一支很特别的乐队，整体风格是摇滚，作品中又包含说唱，电音，大部分歌曲高潮部分的嘶吼又有点金属的感觉。AllMusic (在线音乐指南。拥有网络上最大的音乐数据库) 把他们分类为替代金属和饶舌，MusicMight (一个摇滚音乐网站）将它们列为另类摇滚，NU金属，说唱金属，还有其他网把它们列为电子摇滚，工业摇滚……不过乐队不认为自己的作品属于金属。

 

《Lost in the Echo》这首里面有说唱、摇滚、金属、电音，歌词作得也很押韵，挺适合诠释林肯公园的风格。不过Linkin Park第一张专辑《Hybrid Theory》就已经是这种风格，并且靠该专辑成名（早期Linkin Park的发展十分曲折）。

Linkin Park这个乐队在我身边一众华语粤语流行歌歌迷中，并不占得那么多位置，多的是把这类摇滚歌当作调剂，换个口味振振精神而已。现在的我也是。

 

至于在国内十分流行的那几首歌，可能真的只是因为电影出名（就像《See you again》），网游全民火热（还记得QQ飞车里MC梦的《丑角》《死一样痛过》），还有不是特别明显的金属唱法的原因吧。

 

记得5年前在工业区一间小仓库的二楼上看一支学校自组乐队的排练，唱SUM41的《Still waiting》，唱法很狂野（有嘶吼），鼓点密集，节奏快。我忘了有没有全场跟下来，只记得被架子鼓振得耳朵痛，主唱问我是不是不喜欢朋克（因为没有表现得很兴奋的样子 /笑）。那时候有一个朋友带了DV过来，我就只专注着把玩DV，录他们排练，那时候也非常着迷架子鼓（如果有条件很可能会买 /笑）。如果有听摇滚歌听得那么投入，可能是我幻想着这首歌的鼓手是我……而且他们水平其实还差很多啦，单纯的排演没法完全吸引我。或者摇滚从来就没那么吸引我。

有一刻感到十分惋惜，过了几秒感觉也没有那么惋惜吧。很唏嘘？也没那么唏嘘。不过当提起某些时候某些歌，某些歌手乐队已经离世或解散的时候，我会叹息。

Dear Chester,

 

Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves ofgrief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips withwhat has happened.

 

You touched so many lives, maybe even morethan you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love andsupport, both public and private, from around the world. Talinda and the familyappreciate it, and want the world to know that you were the best husband, son,and father; the family will never be whole without you.

 

Talking with you about the years aheadtogether, your excitement was infectious. Your absence leaves a void that cannever be filled—a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voicein the room is missing. We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons whotook you away from us were always part of the deal. After all, it was the wayyou sang about those demons that made everyone fall in love with you in thefirst place. You fearlessly put them on display, and in doing so, brought us togetherand taught us to be more human. You had the biggest heart, and managed to wearit on your sleeve.

 

Our love for making and performing music isinextinguishable. While we don’t know what path our future may take, we knowthat each of our lives was made better by you. Thank you for that gift. We loveyou, and miss you so much.
