《八音盒》(Music Box):一部关于的动画片

      影片的主要内容和情节是根据创作者的个人亲身经历和五十年前历史背景为素材和依据，以一个十岁儿童的视野，描绘了一次巨大的社会动荡和改变给一颗童心所带来的震撼和困惑。同时，影片也让主人公的心灵即使是在十分困苦的环境中也充满了对美好梦想的向往。

    影片全长约8分钟，预计在2017年夏季全部完成。

 

THE MUSIC BOX

A short animated film by Joe Chang

 

The MUSIC BOX is an eight-minute animated short film with no dialogue,and is about a 10-year-old boy (Liang Liang) and his beloved music box.

 

The story beginsin the summer of 1968 on a sweltering night inShanghai during the Great ChineseCultural Revolution.  The film's protagonist LiangLiang and hisfather and mother are awakened by a group of Red Guardswho come to raidthem during their sleep.  Liang Liang suddenly facesreal fear and anger. When Liang Liang finds a RedGuard move his beloved music box,his anger breaks out.

 

Although Liang Liang’s musicbox is not taken away, his whole family are escorted to a far away place inthe countryside and become laborers and are watched overby Red Guards. It a time of hardship, they travel for a long time to the countryside.  Liang Liang is careful to protect hismusic box during the journey.

 

At night, Liang Liang and his familyarrive to their countryside residence, a smallvillage away from Shanghai. At this time, bored and tired Liang Liang opens the music box that hebrought with him to the village from the Shanghai.Although the box has a small bump after it fell from the truck, but it stillplay a fantasy-like song. The angelic sounds and wonderful music box music inthe mountains have a strange resonance at night. The sound echoes in thevalley, and for a long time can be heard for hours.
